Here other variations of the originally 11-circuit original. If one wants to reduce the circuits of the Chartres type, different ways are possible.
One can leave out, for example, the two outermost circles. Then it looks like this:
Or drawn without external rings:
A historical example is the labyrinth in the inner courtyard of the Munich city hall. Though it is octagonal, the path sequence corresponds to the 9-circuit type on show.

And again the high quality of the original appears. Also without barriers we will get a fully operational classical labyrinth:
Till present I have nowhere seen a labyrinth of this type. Who wants to build the first one?
Is there one more variation of the 9-circuit Chartres type? Yes, because I can also leave out two innermost circles. Then it looks like this:
Or drawn without internal rings:
Again there is a historical example, the Hilton turf maze. The internal rings have presumably disappeared as time passed when the labyrinth was cut anew or restored.
Here a photo:
And again a classical labyrinth arises by leaving out the barriers:
There is also none anywhere.

Hilton… good memories Erwin… See my little white hat in the background..
If Kim and Jeff ever decide to have a small tour again along these turf- and other labyrinths like in 2005, will join rightaway. Thanks for your wonderful and explicit contributions to our beloved labyrinths!
