Today, on the 13th of October, the international day of the labyrinth is celebrated. There is also the first Saturday in May, introduced by the Labyrinth Society.
But on the labyrinth congress in 2005 in Wetzlar (Germany) the 13th of October was chosen to be the international day of the labyrinth (for the German-speaking European countries) and is now held up from labyrinth-international.org:
On the international day of the labyrinth starting at 6 p.m. (local time) all people interested in labyrinths are invited to gather around a labyrinth of their own choice. They walk the path as a sign of connection with the common mother, the earth and to all what is on her and lives from her. With every step, with our thoughts and wishes we send all around the globe a sustaining energy for a planetary wellfare.
It would be beautiful to celebrate this evening with a fire or a light labyrinth.
We take a broader view and allow ourselves to walk a labyrinth even when the sun is shining. And this not only on the 13th of October.
